Company Story
Denise Devine was a busy professional. She also happened to be a working parent just like the majority of Americans. She was also frustrated like many busy working parents who wanted to feed their young children natural and healthy products that were also convenient to pack in the lunchbox for daycare or school or was nutritionally satisfying for car trips, or when on vacation. She found none. Being an executive at a large food company made her all the more discouraged. Convinced that big food companies simply were not going to genuinely address her needs and feeling that parents seemed to be thwarted at every turn by advertisers and promotional tie-ins bombarding kids with junk food, she set out to try to make a difference.
After researching every aspect of early childhood nutrition and consulting experts in the field, Denise set out with very specific goals and requirements for developing new products to address the unmet needs of parents and their young children. Although clear on the nutrition and ingredient profile of the innovative products she was contemplating, not being a food scientist she wanted to insure that the development and execution of these ideas would be commercially viable. She enlisted the help of food scientists at The International Food Network located in Cornell's Technology Park. After doggedly pursuing Denise's insistence on incorporating
whole grains in a drinkable format that would look and taste similar to juice, it
was determined that a technological breakthrough occurred in the
development process. A new technology was created and patents
were issued. Nutripharm was founded. The limits of the technology
were tested and versatility of the platform was validated. The
company has worked with many technical and commercial
partners and has executed the technology and resulting
products in several commercially viable ways. The
company has developed products that meet the needs of
many different consumer demographics ranging from very
young children to older adults.
